Here is our recommended packing list:
ESSENTIALS
Passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond return date)
Flight itinerary & printed copies of confirmation
Copy of travel insurance documents
Credit/debit card (let your bank know you'll be traveling)
Cash (small bills for taxis, tips, markets)
CLOTHING
Swimsuits (2–3)
Lightweight shorts & tank tops
T-shirts or sun shirts (quick-dry or UV-protection recommended)
Sundresses / casual dinner attire
Rash guard (for snorkeling or sun protection)
Light sweater or long sleeve (evenings can get breezy)
Flip-flops or sandals
Lightweight rain jacket or windbreaker
Sleepwear
TOILETRIES
Reef-safe sunscreen (high SPF)
Bug spray or wipes
Toothbrush/paste
Biodegradable shampoo/conditioner/soap
Deodorant
Brush or comb
Wet wipes
Medications (bring seasickness remedies if needed!)
Feminine hygiene products (they can be hard to find locally)
ACCESSORIES
Sunglasses (polarized is best!)
Dry bag (great for dinghy trips)
Daypack or beach bag
Sarong or cover-up
Reusable water bottle
Ear plugs (optional but handy on boats)
BOAT LIFE EXTRAS
Headlamp or flashlight (with red light option if possible)
Travel-sized laundry detergent (optional)
Snorkel gear (if you prefer to use your own)
Book or Kindle
Playing cards or travel games
Small quick-dry towel (for off-boat excursions)
TIPS
Pack in a soft-sided duffel bag or collapsible luggage — hard suitcases don’t store well on boats.
Limit electronics – Wi-Fi may be limited.
Less is more – you’ll live in swimsuits and flip-flops!
